Most interesting of the three highlighted titles is Farewell to Surrealism: The Dyn.
So many European Surrealists who came to New York in the 40s to escape Nazism and World War II went right back after the war, so it’s intriguing that this group broke with Breton and stayed in Mexico just two years after arriving there. With their interest in pre-Columbian objects, it sounds like the Dyn group might be the missing link between AbEx and Surrealism. Will have to get the catalogue and find out!
